Disability Day Programs That Help You Connect, Create and Change Yr Life
At Change Yr Life, we believe every day is an opportunity to learn something new, build confidence, meet great people, and enjoy experiences that matter. We are an NDIS registered company and for that reason we provide quality in-home care services alongside Day Options, which is precisely crafted to encourage friendship, independence, practical life skills and creativity.
We have designed our disability day programs around the individual, with a strong focus on participation, confidence as well as having fun. Regardless of whether you prefer being creative, being engaged with new technology, spending time in the community, cooking, socialising, or developing practical skills for daily life, there will be something exciting for you to do. Our programs run between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. in a healthy 3:1 ratio.
Prior to getting started, we would like to ask you to talk with our team. We provide 1 hourfree consultation session either via phone call or in person, where we will get to know more about your interests, requirements, and goals, and will figure out if CYL Day Options can be good for you.
More Than a Day Out: Opportunities to Learn, Connect and Grow
A great day program is much more than simply filling time. At Change Yr Life, each activity offers an opportunity to acquire skills that can improve one’s quality of life and increase their enjoyment.
In our Day Options program, participants take part in structured activities, which give them an opportunity to make choices, socialise and grow personally. The participants have an opportunity to try new things, use their daily skills, find new hobbies and socialise.
Each activity naturally involves daily living skills in its process. For example, the participant will be able to practise handling money when planning an activity, using public transport when going out to the community, and communication skills while participating in a group activity.
Learning of life skills at their own pace is also offered by all our programs. Whether the individuals are learning how to handle money, cook a meal, communicate with other people, travel, make decisions or even learn how to present themselves well, such skills can be easily learned through relevant activities.
It is as simple as that: creating an enjoyable experience that can help to improve life in other aspects.

Group therapy and problem solving creates an environment where people can freely share their experiences, become resilient, and learn how to effectively solve any problems in life through enhanced communication skills and relationship-building skills.
Every Session Has a Purpose
Although we engage in diverse activities, the common thread remains the same: to facilitate participants’ learning of skills that they find interesting and fun at the same time.
In every lesson, we have fun activities aimed at fostering learning without having learners dread it. Establishing relationships is yet another aspect of what participants will get to be involved in through interactions, communication and collaboration.
Life skills can be found in all our lessons, such as learning how to deal with money, public transport, grooming and developing personal hygiene. Learning all of the above skills can help people build more independence.
Though some skills may seem easy, their mastery will mean a lot in someone’s daily life since they will be able to manage money, use public transport, present themselves well, communicate with people and make decisions independently.
It is also customary for us to inquire about the preferences, needs, interests, and experience of our participants. This information allows us to determine if we are able to provide support to their individual objectives and if the activity still has relevance to them. This is because individuals have changing interests and goals.
The Day Options support service thus aims at creating a balance between enjoyment and development.
Designed Around Real-Life Skills
Learning does not have to occur in a classroom setting. There are many skills that can be gained from everyday life experiences and community activities.
For instance, a community visit can also provide an opportunity for planning, communication, managing money, and using public transport. Cooking classes can help with healthy eating, safe use of the kitchen, and following instructions. An art class can aid in decision making, focus, and expression.
We acknowledge that learning occurs in different ways. Our activities allow each participant to learn in ways that suit them according to their level of ability, interest and comfort. We do not expect all individuals to follow a similar pattern of working; rather, we give the right amount of assistance while allowing them to learn at their own pace.
The strategy we have used will ensure that learning happens seamlessly. Participants will be able to learn from what they are doing, and guidance is offered where needed.
This will ensure that the participant takes the skills learned and applies them in different settings.
A Supportive 3:1 Ratio
All of our program participants benefit from a 3:1 support ratio.
This arrangement helps to ensure that our participants are able to have the benefits of group participation while still getting all of the support that they need.
We recognise that each person has their own strengths, interests and requirements for support. A smaller group situation may actually make participation and communication easier.
The goal is for participants to be able to be themselves while also having the opportunity to try something new. Whether a person tends to be shyer or not, we make it a point to encourage inclusivity.
With respect to those who are involved in programs in places likeSalisbury, an environment that is friendly and welcoming will assist them to become more confident and make friends.
In addition, we encourage the participation of both you and your family members or social networks, coming to visit us and see what we have to offer. Getting to see our setting and meeting our staff will help you to see how our Day Options work. We are sure that you will notice the difference firsthand.
Choose How You Get There
Arriving at the program shouldn’t become an obstacle to taking part. Change Yr Life can provide transportation through our workers for participants who require assistance getting to and from their Day Options sessions.
The transport may necessitate an early start to guarantee that the participant is there on time for the program that starts at 9 am. If the participant requires transport, this can be sorted out as part of the participation discussion.
Alternatively, participants who can travel by themselves can make their own way to the program under their own steam. Travelling independently can itself become a valuable opportunity to practise planning, confidence and everyday travel skills.
We strive to make it as easy as possible for the participant.

What's Coming Next?
It is important that we are constantly searching for new ideas to improve our programs and make them exciting and beneficial. There will be even more activities available soon, thus providing participants with more chances to explore new areas of interest.
Among future activities there are board games, physical games, parenting techniques and Shoot for Starts – Advanced.
One more program that we are preparing to offer is called Life Goal Achievement. This is a program which is aimed at assisting the participants in setting their goals and achieving them from scratch. No matter whether the goal is related to mastering some skills, becoming independent or gaining confidence, the program helps to set a larger goal into smaller ones.
All future activities mentioned above demonstrate our dedication to improving our programs.
