Your NDIS Self Management Guide

Managing your NDIS funding is known as self-management. It provides you with the freedom and options to choose which resources you purchase in order to achieve your strategic objectives. It allows you to creatively consider how to utilise your funds effectively for your needs. If you wish to take control of managing your NDIS plan, have a discussion with your Local Area Coordinator (LAC) or NDIA planner. You may also consider speaking with a self-manager you know to learn from their experience or join a peer support group for self-management. We are dedicated to enhancing the self-management experience. We have created the NDIS Guide to Self-management for NDIS Self Managed Clients in the Adelaide metro area including – Salisbury, Woodville, Elizabeth, Pt Adelaide & Gilles Plains and the SA Riverland who manage their NDIS funding or want to do so.  The guide outlines the advantages of self-management, duties and obligations, and ways to effectively self-manage.

NDIS’ Self-Management Policy

The standard NDIS self-management policy details the operations of self-management within the NDIS. This policy was created in collaboration with NDIS participants, members of the Independent Advisory Council, and representatives from the disability sector. We gathered data and studies from various publications worldwide and conducted several focus groups with NDIS participants. Our team and collaborators implement Our Guideline – Creating your plan to execute this policy.

Who are NDIS Plan Managed Clients?

Plan Management provides a combination of the best features for NDIS Plan Managed Clients. The NDIS will allocate extra funds for a Plan Manager selected by you to assist in managing all your finances and settling your expenses. You have the ability to choose providers, even if they are not registered with NDIS, (unlike NDIA managed clients who may only use Registered Providers)  but equally all types of managed clients must adhere to the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. The Plan management method provides control over your finances and providers, while greatly decreasing the administrative workload linked to self-management. Your Plan Manager is responsible for managing invoice payments, financial reporting, budget tracking, scheduling services, and communicating with your service providers. This method is perfect for individuals who desire flexibility in their plan but lack the time or knowledge to understand NDIS regulations and manage necessary documentation.
